Website redesign
Turn an outdated website into something your business can be proud of.
Vale Digital redesigns outdated and underperforming websites to improve how they look, how they work and how clearly they communicate your business.
Sound familiar?
Does your website still reflect your business?
Most redesigns start with a nagging feeling rather than a crisis. These are the signs we hear about most often.
-
01
It looks dated
The design belongs to a different era, and visitors notice that before they read a single word.
-
02
It is awkward on a phone
Text is small, buttons are fiddly and the layout was never really designed for a small screen.
-
03
Pages feel cluttered
Too much is competing for attention at once, so nothing actually stands out.
-
04
Key information is buried
People give up before they find your services, your prices or a way to contact you.
-
05
Branding is inconsistent
Colours, type and tone drift between pages, and away from your other materials.
-
06
The site feels slow
Heavy pages and unoptimised images make people wait, and some of them will not.
-
07
Content is hard to update
Small changes need a developer, so the site quietly goes stale between updates.
-
08
Competitors look sharper
Side by side, the site undersells a business that deserves to be represented better.
-
09
Enquiries have dropped off
Visitors arrive, but too few of them turn into a phone call, a form or a booking.
Recognise two or three of these and a redesign is usually worth costing up. Recognise most of them and it is probably overdue.
Before and after
The same content, working much harder.
A typical dated layout beside a redesigned one. These are neutral demonstration layouts, not a real client site.
What actually changes
- Cleaner visual hierarchy
- Stronger, more readable typography
- Generous, consistent spacing
- Clearer calls to action
- Simplified navigation
- A layout designed for mobile, not squeezed
- A more confident visual identity
No invented statistics here. We will not claim a percentage uplift we cannot stand behind.
What a redesign improves
A practical business improvement, not a fresh coat of paint.
A redesign is worth doing when it changes how the site performs, not only how it looks.
-
Visual credibility
Make the business look current and professional, so the site supports your reputation instead of undermining it.
-
User experience
Make information easier to find and interactions simpler, so visitors get where they are going.
-
Mobile experience
Improve how the site behaves across phones and tablets, where most of your visitors already are.
-
Conversion
Create clearer routes towards calls, forms, bookings and enquiries rather than leaving people to guess.
-
Performance
Strip out unnecessary weight and tidy the technical quality so pages load quickly.
-
SEO foundations
Correct structural problems and make your content properly crawlable and understandable.
What’s included
What a redesign typically covers.

Keep what works
Improve what needs improving. Keep what already works.
A redesign does not mean throwing everything away. Plenty of what you already have is worth carrying forward.
-
Copy that already works
Well-written pages get carried across rather than rewritten for the sake of it.
-
Useful existing content
Guides, case studies and service detail that earn their place stay in the new build.
-
Your domain
You keep the domain you already have. Nothing about your web address needs to change.
-
Pages performing in search
Where a page is already doing well, we protect its URL and its content.
-
Working integrations
Booking tools, forms and other systems that do their job can be carried over.
-
Photography and brand assets
Good imagery and existing brand materials get reused wherever they still fit.
How a redesign works
Six stages, no drama.
Your existing site keeps running throughout. We only switch over at the last stage, once you are happy with the new one.
-
01
Audit
We go through the current site properly and work out what is doing its job and what is not.
-
02
Plan
We agree the new structure, the priorities and what the redesign actually needs to achieve.
-
03
Redesign
We create a stronger visual direction and a clearer experience for your visitors.
-
04
Rebuild
We build the new site cleanly and responsively, rather than patching the old one.
-
05
Review
We test content, usability, performance and mobile behaviour, and you review it on real devices.
-
06
Launch
We replace the old site, put redirects in place and check everything works as it should.
Redesign pricing
Website redesigns typically start from £1,295.

Not every redesign fits neatly into one of these. If yours does not, we price it on what it actually needs.
SEO and migration
Moving across without losing what you have built.
If your current site has been live for years, it has search history worth protecting. Migration is the part of a redesign that most often gets rushed.
We cannot promise your rankings will not move. Any redesign carries some risk, and search engines need time to re-crawl. What we can do is follow good migration practice so nothing is lost that did not need to be.
- Existing URLs preserved where it makes sense
- Redirects mapped for anything that has to change
- Page titles and meta descriptions carried across
- Indexed pages reviewed before the switch
- Internal links updated to the new structure
- Content with existing search value retained
- Crawlability and an updated XML sitemap
- Search Console checked after launch, where you have it
Every screen
Not just redesigned for desktop.
Your new site should feel considered on every screen, not simply squeezed onto a phone.
Neutral interface mock-ups shown. Real project imagery will replace these as case studies are published.

Questions
Redesign questions, answered.
The things businesses ask us most before committing to a redesign.
Ask a questionHow do I know if my website needs redesigning?
If it looks dated, is awkward on a phone, is difficult to update, or is not producing the enquiries you would expect, it is worth reviewing. We will look at your current site and give you an honest view, including if we think a smaller fix would do the job.
Can you redesign a website built by someone else?
Yes. Most of the redesigns we take on were built by someone else, often several years ago. We do not need the original designer or agency to be involved.
Will my existing website stay live while you build the new one?
Yes. Your current site stays online and working throughout. We build the new one separately and only switch over once you have seen it and approved it.
Can you keep my existing content?
Yes, where it is worth keeping. We will tell you honestly which content is still working, which needs rewriting and which is better dropped. Anything you want to keep gets carried across.
What happens to my Google rankings?
Any redesign carries some risk of movement, and nobody can honestly promise otherwise. We reduce avoidable loss by preserving URLs where sensible, mapping redirects, carrying over metadata and keeping content that already performs. Some fluctuation while search engines re-crawl the site is normal.
Can you move my site to a different platform?
Usually, yes. Tell us what the site is built on now and where you would like it to end up, and we will confirm what is involved before quoting.
How long does a website redesign take?
It depends on the size of the site, how much content needs restructuring and how quickly feedback comes back. We give you a realistic timeline alongside your quote and keep you updated as we go.
Can you improve just part of my website?
Sometimes that is the right answer. If only a few pages or one section are letting the site down, we will say so rather than selling you a full rebuild you do not need.
Can you host and maintain the new site?
Yes, if you would like us to. Care plans cover managed hosting, updates, security patches and minor content changes, from £29 to £49 a month. It is optional, and you are free to host elsewhere.
After launch
Keep the new site in good shape.
Once the redesign is live, care plans cover managed hosting, updates, security patches and minor content changes, so the new site does not drift back towards the old one. Entirely optional.
